This Father's Day, cast out a line and catch some memories at Widewater State Park! With the help of a ranger, learn the basics of fishing, from setting up your rod to setting your hook. Learn about different lures and bait, common fish in the area, and spend some time with your loved ones by the water. Whether you've been fishing for years, or have never touched a fishing rod, anglers of all experience levels are welcome! Fishing gear can be provided by the park but are limited in number. Guests are encouraged to bring their own. Participants 16 and older must have a valid Virginia state freshwater fishing license. Fishing licenses can be purchased online on the Virginia DWR website. This program will meet outside the Visitor Center before journeying to the Aquia Creek together. *All families are welcome to join us at this event! In case in inclement weather, please check this page prior to coming to the park. Cancellations will be posted by close of business the day before the program.
