Learn about the famous American icon at a free lecture on Thursday, May 21, at 6:30 PM, at the Downtown Library Theater, 1201 Caroline Street. focuses on the history of the Statue of Liberty, along with French cuisine, and with insights on how French philosophical thought inspired America's founding fathers and its founding documents. Dr. Craig Vasey, retired philosophy professor at UMW, will join Dr. Brooke DiLauro, professor of French literature at UMW, and Bill Beck antiquarian and independent researcher, in discussing French influences in American Culture.
