Join a ranger to learn about science, history, and nature at Leesylvania State Park! Check Out the dates below for specific topics and be sure to sign up. This program is intended for children ages 5-17 years old. May 8, 2026 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Campfire Fun: Join park rangers for a campfire at the Visitor Center. Bring your friends and family to learn about nocturnal animals, campfire safety, and enjoy a s'more. May 22, 2026 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Discovery Hike: Wonder and walk as Rangers guide you in exploring Leesylvania State Park. You will use your senses to explore many things in our park such as leaves, lichen, birds, and bugs! This 0.8 mile hike will begin at the Visitor Center and travel along Potomac Trail. The trail is made of compacted gravel, rated easy, accessible, and stroller friendly. Finish the hike at the Visitor Center with a craft!
