Description

Celebrate National Great Outdoors Month by joining Stratford Hall's Director of Landscapes, Matt Peterschmidt, for an insightful talk on 18th-century landscapes and a guided tour of the historic gardens. This lecture and tour will look at the past, present, and future of the landscape around the nearly 300-year-old Great House. Learn of the different influences that have shaped the landscape from before the Lee family's ownership up until present day. Friends of Stratford Members get $25 off each ticket! or contact if you're already a member and need the promo code. Please check in at the Visitor Center. The group will begin with a 20-30 minute lecture in the Jessie Ball duPont Memorial Library and then explore the grounds for 45-60 minutes. Pre-registration is not required. Tickets can be purchased in the Visitor Center on the day of the event. Visitors can expect long periods of walking and standing during the tour and to encounter uneven brick and gravel pathways. Part of this experience is outdoors, so please dress for the weather, bring sunscreen, bug spray and a bottle of water. Limited spaces are available and advance registration is required.
