In this engaging talk, Master Composter and garden historian Patricia Neleski explores Washington’s passion for farming, sharing fascinating insights from his diaries and letters about composting, soil care, and innovative gardening techniques. Gardeners in the Northern Neck face many of the same challenges Washington did more than 250 years ago—heavy clay soil, squirrel invasions, and unpredictable spring weather.
