Experience the vibrant music, dance, and rhythms of Puerto Rico with Bomba Sundays in Fredericksburg! Semilla Cultural invites children, teens, adults, and families to explore Afro–Puerto Rican bomba through dance and percussion classes in a welcoming, community-centered space. This seasonal series builds toward an end-of-year showcase and is open to all levels.
Class Schedule (Sundays):
Dates: Feb 1, Mar 1, Apr 12, May 3 Location: Virtuous Dance Center, 31 Utah Pl #101, Fredericksburg, VA
1:30–2:15 PM | Semillitas – Kids Bomba (Ages up to 9) Play, sing, and dance while learning Puerto Rican bomba in a fun, interactive environment. Cost: $10 per child (children 4 & under attend with a guardian)
2:30–4:00 PM | Bomba Dance – Introductory (All Ages) Learn foundational bomba steps, rhythms, piquetes, regional styles, and history. Cost: $25 per class | Virtual option available
4:00–5:00 PM | Bomba Percussion (All Ages) Learn bomba rhythms using barriles, maracas, and cuás. No experience required. Cost: $20 teens/adults/seniors | $10 children (Instruments provided; limited availability)
All levels welcome. No prior experience required.
