Description IdeaSpace is a facility of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library, which has proudly served the community since 1969. Opened in December 2020, IdeaSpace received a Preservation Spark Award from Historic Fredericksburg Foundation, Inc. in 2022 for its role in enhancing the city&'s Creative Maker District. Continuing the library's mission to inspire lifelong learning, IdeaSpace empowers the community to explore creativity through hands-on maker technology. Since its opening, more than 500 customers have earned over 2,300 equipment badges. IdeaSpace fosters creativity and learning by providing training and access to maker equipment-including an audio/video recording booth, 3D printers, a laser cutter, sewing machines, and drawing tablets-along with hands-on classes and events on topics such as coding and design. It also offers creative technology, such as photography equipment, available to borrow at no cost.
