About Each year, Spotsylvania County hosts its Stars & Stripes Spectacular on the Saturday before July 4. Come celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence by joining us for this popular patriotic festival, featuring historical tours, live music, food vendors, and more. Festivities always conclude with a grand fireworks display. The sprawling event takes up much of the Spotsylvania County Courthouse District, designated a Virginia Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The free celebration will take place Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 4-10 p.m. in the Spotsylvania Courthouse area, which includes Spotsylvania Elementary School and Spotsylvania Courthouse Village. Fireworks should begin about 9:20 p.m. The rain date is Sunday, June 28. For more information, please contact Spotsylvania County Parks and Recreation at (540) 507-7529.
